Florian Barral
Co-founder & CEO @Evalmee
Co-founder and CEO of Evalmee, a CentraleSupélec graduate, and a lecturer at ESSEC since 2022. He writes about online assessment, GDPR compliance for remote exams, and the use of AI in grading.
Background
Florian Barral co-founded Evalmee in 2020 with Dorian Becker, after a first
entrepreneurial venture in education. He is its CEO.
He graduated from CentraleSupélec
(2014-2018) and holds an MSc in Data Science & Business Analytics from ESSEC
Business School. Before Evalmee, he was a data scientist at Artefact and then at
Capgemini Invent, and a business analyst at Amazon.
Teaching
A teacher before he was a vendor: that is where Evalmee comes from. Florian has
been a lecturer at ESSEC Business School since January 2022, where he has built
and taught the Business Statistics and Business Data Science courses. Before
that he taught web project management at EFAP, in Paris, in 2017. He still uses
Evalmee with his own students.
What he writes about
Assessment as a teaching tool rather than a formality; GDPR compliance for
remote exams and what the CNIL expects of a remote proctoring setup; the place —
and the limits — of AI in grading.
