Co-founder & CTO @Evalmee

Co-founder and CTO of Evalmee, an Arts et Métiers engineer and a former teacher at EFAP. He writes about the architecture of an exam platform, data security, and the reliability of high-volume sessions.

Background

Dorian Becker co-founded Evalmee in 2020 with Florian Barral and runs its engineering. He studied at Arts et Métiers (ENSAM, 2011-2014), then at the school’s Institut Image, in Chalon-sur-Saône.

Before Evalmee, he was an IT project manager at the Société des Ingénieurs Arts et Métiers, where he led the merger of two web portals, and then a freelance developer and product manager. He mainly develops in Ruby on Rails.

Teaching

He taught an introduction to the web at EFAP, in Paris, in 2018 — the teaching experience that, for both founders, came before the product.

What he writes about

The architecture of a platform that has to hold thousands of simultaneous candidates without losing a single submission; the security and encryption of exam data; what “robust” means when an outage means a cancelled session for an entire institution.
