After an exam, Evalmee shows the minimum grade, the average grade and the maximum grade of the paper, then, question by question, the number of participants who answered and the success rate. Grades export to Excel, graded submissions to PDF, and the REST API returns them participant by participant. ### Overall statistics, then question by question The Statistics screen gives the general shape of the exam first, then the detail of each question. It is designed to be projected in front of participants, in the room, when the results are given back. - **Overall statistics**: minimum, average and maximum grade - **Question by question**: number of respondents and success rate - **On clicking a question**: the share obtained by each choice, with the answer shown - **Projectable in the room**: the screen is meant to be shown to the group ### Four exports, two uses The grades go out to Excel to be reprocessed, the submissions go out to PDF to be archived or printed. Both start from the same button, in the Grades tab. - **Simple grades**: an .xlsx file downloaded immediately - **Detailed grades**: an .xlsx sent by email, with the weightings and the raw results question by question - **Archive of submissions**: a .zip archive containing one PDF per participant - **All submissions**: a single PDF, to print everything at once ### What statistics does Evalmee show after an exam? Evalmee shows three overall indicators (minimum, average, maximum) and two indicators per question (number of respondents, success rate). Opening a question shows the share obtained by each choice offered, with the answer displayed. This is deliberately short. The screen answers the two questions a teacher asks after an exam: did the group succeed, and which questions caused trouble. The rest is read submission by submission. The spread of answers across choices is the most useful indicator for revising a paper. Evalmee does not calculate a [difficulty index](https://evalmee.com/en/assessment-glossary/#difficulty-index), a [discrimination index](https://evalmee.com/en/assessment-glossary/#discrimination-index) or [item analysis](https://evalmee.com/en/assessment-glossary/#item-analysis). These psychometric indicators are not part of the product: if your institution uses them, the detailed export provides the raw results question by question needed to calculate them. Four exports start from the Grades tab: two Excel files for the grades, two files for the graded submissions. The grades can also be mail merged to participants from the application, with a message you write. The Detailed grades export is the one used to reprocess the results. It contains the question weightings, the raw results question by question and ready-made Excel formulas. It is sent by email, to the address of your choice: you can therefore send it straight to the colleague who consolidates the grades. The participant sees the key figures of their submission and all their answers with the grading. They never see the event report recorded during the exam, which stays reserved for the examiner. #### The three display settings for results - Grade visible: the participant sees their grade - Grading visible: the participant sees their graded submission once the exam is over, and the detail of points per question if the grade is visible - Grading after each question: the answer is shown before moving on to the next one, for [formative exams](https://evalmee.com/en/assessment-glossary/#formative-assessment) The first two settings are independent, which lets you show a graded submission without displaying points while the scoring is not settled. ### Can the scoring be corrected afterwards? Yes. A correct answer entered wrongly, an ambiguous question to neutralize or a weighting to revisit can be corrected after the exam, and Evalmee recalculates every grade in the exam accordingly. Two paths lead to the same result. From the Paper tab, the Edit button lets you revisit the correct choices, the weightings, the grading comment and the tags, then run Recalculate grades. From the settings, changing the scoring of choice questions ends with Save and recalculate grades. A curve that moves the whole class rather than one question — added points, a square-root curve, a bell curve — is prepared alongside, in the [grade curve calculator](https://evalmee.com/en/tools/grade-curve-calculator/), then carried back into the scoring. It is the least spectacular feature on this page and often the most useful: it saves reorganizing an exam because one question out of forty was badly worded. ### How do you get the results into your own tools? The Evalmee public API, in version 2, exposes the results of an exam and the participants' attempts in JSON. Authentication uses OAuth 2.0, client credentials flow, with a token valid for 24 hours. The two resources useful for reporting are the results of an exam and the attempts. An attempt carries its status, its grade, its scoring scheme, its start and end timestamps, and a link to the submission. In criteria-based mode, the grades per criterion come with the result. One point to know before designing your integration: the API offers no webhook, retrieval is done by call.
